Sooke Family Resource Society
Our Impact Why We Exist
Sooke Family Resource Society has been serving the communities of southern Vancouver Island for the past 30 years, serving the greater Sooke community since 1984, and the Westshore and surrounding areas since 2004.
We see the impact of our agency's services in the lives of our clients every day: single moms with special needs children accessing parenting support, grandparents raising grandchildren attending playgroups, adults with developmental disabilities integrating into the community, youth reaching out for mental health and counselling services. Providing people with the tools to empower themselves is at the core of SFRS. Strong families make strong communities.

Our Story What We Do
Our wide range of programs within each of these departments meet clients and their families where they are and help them to learn and/or build new skills to gain strength of confidence in day-to-day and challenging areas in their lives.
Sooke Family Resource Society has received designation as one of twelve BC Early Years Centres, enabling us to continue to build on a foundation of pre-existing SFRS Early Years services ranging from prenatal services to services for families with children up to age 6. The BC Early Years Strategy is an eight-year government commitment to improve the accessibility, affordability, and quality of early years programs and services for families with young children.
- Promote positive parenting and effective communication in families.
- Promote young children's optimal physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.
- Develop and maintain helpful, free or low-cost programs for families and individuals with exceptional needs.
- Support families in crisis by providing accessible individual, child & family counselling services.
