Gulf Islands Seniors Residence AssociationOur Impact Why We Exist

Meadowbrook is a member of the BC Non-Profit Housing Association and provides both Assisted Living and Supportive Housing to its residents. Meadowbrook has continually been recognized as providing excellent services to their clients and demand for accommodations exceed current supply.

MeadowbrookOur Story What We Do

In 1997, a group of island seniors raised concern that many seniors were leaving the island to find appropriate supportive living accommodations for those needing to leave their homes. In 1998, the Gulf Islands Seniors Residence Association (GISRA) was incorporated and became a non-profit, charitable organization. Private funds were raised, land acquired and named Meadowbrook and construction of a 37 suite building was completed in 2003. At the opening of Meadowbrook, all suites were occupied and full occupancy has remained over these last 11 years with an active waiting list.
